The Learnology sessions currently run on Fridays with the Wharfedale schools. In the first workshop pupils will be introduced to various learning tools that they will use throughout the project.
Learning Tools
Pupils will be introduced how to use and update their e-journal (an online blog to write their reflections and challenges of Learnology).
Pupils will also be given a learning map to show the different points they will be visiting on their learning journey. This could be used as a class map or individual maps for each pupil.
Leaders of Learning will also develop their own ‘guide’ as they go through the modules. This will be a record of notes, drawings, photos and discussions so they can refer to this back at school.
Learning Heroes
There are five main areas of Learnology:
Ready
Resilience
Resourcefulness
Relationships
Reflection
For each area a Learning Hero is assigned, these were designed by our key stage two pupils. Each hero has a set of important learning powers which are explored in each of the sessions.
Pupils in key stage one will be given a learning hero to take back to school with them and share with their class. The hero is there to remind the children and also offer advice through his/her prompts.
Learning heroes can be personalised to your school needs and purchased.
